JEROME THOMAS

Jerome Thomas is a native of Oakland, Ca. where he graduated from Fremont High School in 1970 and in 1972; he was drafted into the US Navy where he served as an Airman on the USS Midway. In 1973, he discharged from the US Navy with an Honorable Discharge.

In 1973, Jerome returned to Oakland to begin a career in anti-social behavior. He sold drugs, carried numerous weapons although he was never arrested for drug sells, he was arrested numerous times on weapon charges. In 1979, Jerome committed the ultimate crime of taking the life of a human being. 

He was convicted and sentenced to life and spent 25 years 9 months and 25 days in prison. In December of 2006, Jerome returned to free society with an A.A. degree, which he earned while incarcerated. The A.A. degree is an Adjusted Attitude.

Since his release from prison, Jerome has been working with youth in Crime Preventive Programs such as Omega Boys Club with Co-founder Jack Jacqua, the Office of Neighborhood Safety, Richmond, California and the Phoenix Project.  Jerome is also involved in a mentoring program with middle school youth in San Francisco, California.
